Through past associations with the drummer, I was recently asked to join a Proggish hardcore band. I'm completely new to the genre, so I'm looking for tips and feedback on a few songs. these videos are from our second show, opening for Madina lake.

The bass is relatively inaudible, although it can more than likely be picked out by the great ears of talkbass

Please feel free to point me in a good direction. thus far, I've been playing how i feel fit and I'm just looking to see whether i've hit or missed the mark. thanks!

You've got great tone, and you guys are definitely tight. Is your guitarist playing a Stagg?

I wish you and the drummer would get a little more noodley during fills, but you aren't underplaying for sure. It feels like the songs wander a bit without much development in some spots. I cant decide if they feel too short or too long. I also feel like you could benefit from another guitarist, but that's just personal preference.

It reminds me of early Incubus, so I definitely dig it.

Thanks for your compliments Nataku

He's playing a custom built USA guitar works tele hybrid. pretty sweet guitar!

I agree about the wandering. I Don't input much in the writing process, and the songs do get a bit trancey and divergent. This is the style I'm more used to writing in with my other band http://www.purevolume.com/MorningViewNNJ

What exactly do you mean by noodley? do you mean to lock in and fill in unison patterns or just more movement throughout.

and thanks again. Incubus is certainly a large influence on the guitarist and I.
