I was practicing last night, and my autistic 6yo daughter comes into the room, grabs a bass, and joins in singing and playing!!

She plays a little high on the neck, but I don't mind...yet
(darned dummies blocked an otherwise awesome smile!)

Awesome!!!

I still can't get my daughter (also autistic, but 7 1/2) to pay much attention to my basses. She used to sometimes slap the strings a few times and say "Daddy play Face," but now she pretty much ignores the basses completely. I did notice that she had messed with my EQ sliders though.

She's also getting the hang of singing together, and sometimes in harmony!

Some day soon I'll try to snap a pic of her holding one of my basses. I'll have to be lightning fast with the camera though.

Congrats, Dad, from someone who knows!

That is wonderful! Yes, I'll bet you're proud. Nice picture.

(I have a nephew who's autistic, BTW.)

My 3 & 1/2 year old is all about my bass and anything with buttons, he's definitely not autistic, just fascinated by buttons!!

We have to take care constantly with what he can reach or whatever it was will have been pummelled
