Dance Of Days is an interesting read, all about the history of punk and hardcore music in DC.

Spray Paint The Walls is a biography of Black Flag that was an enjoyable read.

I was a bit disappointed that Mudhoney was included in OBCBYL. To me they didn't have a huge impact on punk and the chapter was basically used as a "history of sub pop" thing anyway.

Of course when you say punk literature you have to include the numerous punk and hc zines out there.

I don't recall the name right now, but John Joseph's autobiography was good. Crazy dude who's lived a crazy life.

And here I thought punk devotees rejected reading & literature as too bourgeois and mainstream.

Learn something new every day!

"We Jam Econo," a doc about the Minutemen, should be required viewing by anyone into punk.

Also, Bad Religion Live at the Palladium is a great example of what punk has come to in modern times.

"Dharma Punx" was my latest read. Good read, not what I was expecting. A lil heavy on the 12 step. Would read again.

I miss sitting inside Sound Idea, when that was still a distro/storefront, and reading all the MRR back issues. Thanks Bob Suren for getting me into bands like Warzone, Cause For Alarm, Fang, No Crisis, Sick Pleasure, and The Fartz. Thanks for Burrito Records. Thanks form always being a friend. One thing I miss about punk is the community. Seems like everyone in this town is skeptical of newcomers.

*memories... those watercolored memories...*

Henry Rollins published a book of essays a while back. I forget the title, but I used his writing in my Am. Lit. high school class while teaching at-risk youth in L.A. They dug it.

He also published his diaries from being in Black Flag, 83-87. Get In The Van is long out of print, but you can find the audio book on the internet if you dig hard enough.

I also have a 2 hour Q&A with Ian Mackaye from LSU back in 2005. I haven't seen or heard of any one else having it. It was available for free download for a brief period of time. If anyone is interested, I can post it to mediafire. He does everything from introduce himself to explain his philosophies on how to make it in music.

...if anyone is interested. Please refer to this photo of the back of my car for your answer.

I'll be back after my lunch break with a few. Mostly netflicks rockumentaries.

How does the vinyl sticker hold up to your wiper blade? I was wanting to do something like that for my wagon.
