Putting The Old Band Back Together

So who's done it and how did it work out?

Recently I got together with one of the guitar players from the last band I was in (in 2000), and now our old drummer has expressed an interest in joining us. We're pretty sure we can land the other guitar player, which would be just awesome. The only problem is that our singer now receives his mail at a Federal prison. I guess 4 out of 5 isn't bad.

Every situation is different, but:
The last time I got my old band together, the first couple practices went great.
The old songs seemed fresh again and we played with good energy.

But as time went by, we went right back to same old habits,
and had the same problems that caused us to break up in the first place.

A reunion is cool...for a short time.

Think about it, everyone wants to see the Police play together live...but NO ONE wants to hear a new album from them.

Ahhhh...no, but we were joking that we could all try to get put in the same prison to complete the line-up, so to speak.

I'm going to remain optimistic about this. With one exception everyone who needed to make positive changes in their lives and themselves appears to have done so.

There's honestly no one I'd rather play with in our area, so I'm going to do my best to make this work.
