Can any one here name one bass company that has never had a QC problem that they are aware of?

And this thread is not an excuse to bass any brand.

Well I've only been playing bass for a couple of years but I've never heard of Fender having any major problems. But I could be wrong. I'm sure other people will know better then me.

Define QC problem. Do you mean a company that releases a few lemon basses (each with different individual problems), or a company that releases basses that all have the same reoccurring issues?

That's up to the purchaser or person checking the brand out to define.

I'm sure if a company made three basses and one of the three was not up to qaulity as the other two, that would be a qc problem.

In that case, I don't think I could name a single company. There have been people in this forum who have received Sadowskies, Foderas, F-Basses, Moduluses, etc... that had problems.

Every company will release a few lemons. There's really no way around it. IME, what's more important is how a company handles these problems with their customers.

For what it's worth, I've yet to play a Squier CV that wasn't up to par for what it is

I've heard people say that Carvin basses a while back had problems with their electronics. But cannot speak from experience since I don't own a Carvin.

Fact:
You can't please all the people all the time.

So, if there is a company like that out there, it's only a matter of time....

Nope. Seems nobody is 100% perfect. (Then figure in customers who don't understand how to use a feature & think its broke + customers with overarching expectations at a given price point, etc...)

I'm friends with a builder who makes less than 20 instruments a year. He spends a LOT of time on each instrument & they generally sell within hours of being listed (he doesn't take "orders"). Even he has had one instrument come back for a finishing problem anomaly.

Any complex system (a bass guitar being a 'system' of inter-related parts) is subject to entropy. Especially factoring in organic materials and the range of environments/abuses that an instrument is subject to.

Then there's issues of 3rd party control. For example, can Fender really help it that an hourly GC employee is clueless about proper instrument set-up? (Well, perhaps they cold be more selective about authorized dealers- but that impacts price-points, etc.)
