| K&M stands are good and reliable. It's probably the most popular brand over here. I'd be careful with lightweight (e.g. aluminum) stands as they usually break easier and have a flimsier feel than the steel ones.
I would recommend a flightcase type of box with wheels instead of a bag. A few stands weigh a lot so the wheels are really nice to have. Also, if it gets very heavy, two people can carry the box together in stairs etc. It's not very difficult to build a suitable box either, and by doing it yourself you're likely to save some money.
