I quit playing around 18, then picked it up again at 40. Had to relearn everything, but it is great.

I think, realistically, 80 is not too old to learn bass. Thirty-seven is PLENTY young.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jan 2001 Location: Charleston, WV | | | Neither is more difficult, they're both as difficult as you make them. The basic concepts are similar and fairly simple. Dexterity may be an issue at first, but that is something that can be delt with through practice.
Also, there's how you approach either instrument. Rhythm, lead, pocket, soloing, walking lines...it depends on what music you have in your head and what you want to come out. There are so many styles and techniques to fill your head with and make into your own.
You just gotta have a good time with it. Difficulty isn't an issue. You'll experience times of frustration, we all do. You just gotta keep groovin' and roll with it.
