question about equipment

Sign in to disble this ad
my dad passed away about 2 years ago. he was playing steel guitar and i got his equipment. i dont know how to hook these things up so i was looking for some help. he has 2 peavey speakers for stereo i guess but 1 would be fine for me. im just starting to try to learn to play it. i started to play before but it was too early......too many memories. he also has a peavey profex II and a peavey dpc750. there is also a volume pedal for the steel. any ideas on how to hook all this up would be greatly appreciated. i know this isnt about basses but people on here have been really nice. if its too far off topic i understand. i even called the local peavey dealer in my town and he said maybe i should ask the place where he bought the equipment from. he can be a real jerk. but im sure my dad bought it from him. he says he didnt though. thanks for any help in advance.

I just think it would give us a better idea of how to help you set this rig up.

In the meantime, I think it'd go something like this:

Guitar into volume pedal

Volume pedal into input of preamp

Preamp output into power amp

Power amp output into speakers

EDIT: By the by, what size speakers are they? What impedance?

Chances are, there's two for volume, not to be plugged in stereo.

Well my guess is if your father had them for that power amp, they will work for it. Follow the basic chain I outlined before and it should work.

thanks for your help. i can get it to work now by bypassing the profex unit so i guess something is wrong with it. now the bad thing is i have to take it to the jerk peavey dealer to have it worked on because he is close to me. i have a bad back and cant drive very far to take it to another one. thanks again.
