Hey guys, I need a hardshell case for my Lakland 5502 and I'm wondering if anyone has some suggestions. Im looking to spend around $150, but it can be more/less. Theres no stores carrying Bass cases around here And I want to make sure I get a case that fits the 5 stringer. Thanks!

The case that came with my 55-94 is by G&G. I did some google'n but couldn't find much info or dealers. My guess is they only sell directly to the manufactures.

It's basically a Fender style hard case. Not form fitting on the inside. Any other case that fits a fender bass should work for a Lakland.

I got a ProTec flight case - fantastic case for about US$89.

Same here, my JO5 fits perfectly into the Freedom HSC.

I actually use a Fender P-bass ccase for my newest 55-01. I think it's the same as Chunk's G&G case (given the labelling on the case)

It fits better than lakland's case, and as it's not a form-fitting case, there's still space for strap, cables, tuner, toools, etc.

The lakland case that shipped with my55-01 is an SKB freedom case. Where it said FREEDOM on the case the logo was removed and a Lakland logo stuck in it's place. My DJ 4 also fits perfectly in an SKB Freedom case.

Why not just order one directly from Lakland?

I use the case that came with my 4-94 for my 55-01. The bridge on the Lakland 5's is mounted an inch lower on the body to give it the longer scale so any bass case should fit fine. I got a Lakland gig bag with the 55-01 but I only use it when I need to take both of them.
