Figured this would probably fit in here. Trying to find out what the standard protocol is as far as crediting all parties in the following situation:
A band records tracks for an EP at a studio (Studio A let's call it). All the tracking is done here with Engineer A. Producer A owns the studio and gives some input into mixing a few songs but is basically hands-off. The Engineer has some input into production choices as well, making a few suggestions about certain parts or dynamic changes, etc, but mostly the band comes in with the songs already arranged and sticks with the plan.
The tracks are all mixed and mastered at Studio A by Engineer A. Following this, the band wants to put in some more time on the mixes and decides to send them to some friends at Studio B, let's say Engineer B and Producer B. These guys generally strip down the mixes from Studio A and start from scratch, but use all the existing takes (no new tracks are being laid). They have some production input as well in terms of final mixing, but again, the band generally takes charge.
What is standard here? I would assume you would say something like
Recorded 1/1/01 at Studio A by Engineer A
Mixed and mastered 2/2/01 at Studio B by Engineer B and Producer B
Produced by Band Name and ???
Who else deserves a production credit in this scenario?
