A member quoted a phrase that read something like this: "If you can't get it done on a 4 string that you won't be able to do it on a 5". That is not exactly how it was stated. Has anyone read this and remember how it was stated? It was a great point of view.

Jaco only needed 4 strings?

My point of view is it's a restrictive, lame, and inaccurate point of view. You know what they say about opinions...

Not positive, but it sounds like something Jeff Berlin would say..... On second thought, he'd probably say "If you can't get it done on a four string? Give up, do drywall or plumbing or something" Note: all due respect to bass playing drywallers and plumbers.

If you can't do it on a five string, you can't do it on a four.
