The Swedish well renowned jazz piano player died Saturday, 14th June, from injuries due to a diving accident in the Swedish archipelago.

R.I.P.

I saw the trio perform only last year, and it was so beautiful - can't believe this has happened

No it's really sad, apparently he was diving in a team, and when team came up he was not with them, they found him severely injured on the bottom of the sea and he died later in the evening at the hospital.

Heard about it from some of my friends today from my jazzclub. Esbjörn was one of Sweden's most acknowledged jazz pianists who played with all major stars on the swedish jazz (and even pop) scene. RIP.

Wow. E.S.T. has been one of my favorite bands since I discover them a few years ago. . . Was looking forward to see them live one day.

Great loss to the music world.
