Teddy wasn't smooth. He was a raw in your face lady killer of a vocalist! When it came to the alpha male sex symbol vocalist Teddy was the model. I bet bet he had one hell of a (tossed on stage) panty collection too!

I was blessed to have seen him live as a headliner before his accident. He was a big, strong man (6' 2") and he oozed masculinity. The funniest thing was that in the concert I saw, a really pretty woman wanted to come on stage, and he let her. Although she was petite, she almost bent him in two, hugging him. The audience went wild! Later, a great, big woman tried to rush the stage, and it sure looked like Teddy gave a nod, and the big girl literally got flipped off the edge of the stage, back on to the floor by security!

Whether he had that woman flipped or not, RIP MR. Pendergrass.

LOL, BBW's were not the thing back in the early 80's.

Your post, when combined with your avatar, is almost too much to bear this morning

Unhappy

I will listen to The love I lost this morning, and weep.
Anyone who has NOT at the very least tried to flip someone on their back to some Teddy needs to do so, ASAP.
In honor of...

As much as I love the vulnerable, sweet singers of that era (Marvin/Smokey/Al Green/Curtis Mayfield) Teddy P was ALL MAN. That growling voice of his helped this guy's play a LOT through the years. Love TKO every single time.

RIP

There will never be another.
