So due to my arrogance I just wanted to point out that I am a genius.
I finally assembled my rig which includes an 8 space rack with a lot of high heat generating components. Lookignf or a cooling solution I came across the Middle atlantic rack fan panel.

Believe it or not but this little luxury was quoted at $170 Cad from my local GC so I decided to take measures in my own hands.
With a little AutoCad and a friend who works in a steel fabrication plant I created my own fan panels which ran me at $70 a piece.
The procedure is simple all you need are:
4 80mm computer fans ($10 ea)
a switch ($2)
a dc input plug ($2)
a 120VAC - 12VDC converter ($20)
4 computer fan grills ($1.25 ea)
access to AutoCad and a CNC waterjet (free)
Note: this is where most will be thrown off, there are other options involving a prefabricated panel with fan holes or a prefab solid fan panel and some hacksaw magic.
Basically I decided my fan layout, drafted it up on Cad and had my friend cut it out, then screw the fans and covers onto the pannel, wire the fans in parallel to the switch and the DC jack and Voila. I also made a little wooden box to nicley hide all the wiring components.
It was an easy project and withoguht the connection to a CNC water jet, the prefab panels with fan holes already cut run at about $15 so you can still make these for half the cost of buying them.
