Rackmount tuners

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm not sure if this is in the correct forum, so feel free to move it. I was just wondering what everyone's thought's were on rackmount tuners, as in quality, bang for buck, ease of use, etc. With all the different brands out there, how do you choose, or know which one to buy? Thanks for any info.

I personally love Korg rackmounts. I have a DTR-2 in my rack. It works great. Handles the low B just fine.

I have a Korg DTR 2 in my rack. It takes the tuner out from my Eden and is just convenient being on all the time.

I have the Behringer rack tuner. You won't like it if you are a gear snob. However, if you want a rack tuner that ..... well.....tunes, I highly recommend it. It has good note recognition, it's always on, has a ton of features, plus the rack light is great. All of that for $60. As far as which one to buy, it's personal choice. Looks are probably as important as anything. I tested Korg, Sabine, and Fender tuners before I bought the Behringer and they all did what they claim.

I really wanted to like the behringer, but it makes little sense to me. I'd prefer to have a pedal tuner that would be far more precise for the price... I A/Bed the Behringer to the Korg DTR-1000 (which, of course, is more than double the price) and there was no contest. The behringer is "ok" on its own though, and if you *really* need a rack tuner and can't spend even $100 for the fender, then I guess it's the only way to go.

I use a Korg DTR 2000. Kinda overkill, but, I play guitar also and use it for that too.
It's a useful space filler. You can get pedals just as good or even better if you want to pay for a Peterson. They make a rack tuner also but they cost $$$$.
