Rammstein and their use of backing tracks

I was sick during the last few days so I spent far too much time on Youtube watching Rammstein live footage.
Now I'm not the biggest Rammstein fan who ever lived, but I still think their keybordist's contributions to their sound are pretty creative and interesting.

Does anyone know how much of the "techno" effects they use are backing tracks and how much of them are actually played/triggered by Flake? Also, does their drummer use a click track? I would be pretty surprised if he didn't.

Are there any sites on Rammstein's gear that are actually decent? I've been combing the web for a bit and pretty much all I ran into was dozens of sites with questionable content and badly translated interviews. I'd really like to know as my band also uses backing tracks for its techno-ish elements. Thanks in advance.

I would almost guarantee that their drummer works from a click track. Re: keys, listening to the "Live in Berlin" CD, you can hear a few instances where the synth/loop triggering is not as consistent as the studio version, indicating a live trigger-finger. Also, in the live version it is somewhat more apparent (to my ears anyway) which sounds are loops that a person is not actively "playing".

Loads of drummers these days have a click track in their monitor mix, especially if they are using in-ears.

The key/synth stuff is cool though, it makes the music so much more "complete" sounding.

i can't see how they would be able to perform live without click tracks. the timing and speed of the sequenced parts would be really, really hard to do without it even with tap tempo inputs.

I really like Rammstein, surprising because I normally don't like that style of music.

They def. use a click track. There's no way to get everything together the way they do without it. Watch the Live Aus Berlin DVD.

As far as a website for R+ info, go to Herzeleid.com. Plenty of stuff on those guys there, but I warn you about the forum...lots of kiddies on there, so lots of flaring tempers.

The translations on the songs are very good there as well.
