Random musings on music on Directv / Guitar Center Sessions

1. What the hell happened to Maroon 5? The Beach Bowl show from several years ago was outstanding. Now they seem like the Adam and his i-Mac / auto-tune band.

2. None of that crap Alanis is singing about is truly ironic. Cool paint job on her Strat.

3. Colbie Caillot? Not exactly what I think of when I think of Guitar Center but all kinds of music and insight are cool.

4. Excellent Blackberry Smoke and Black Stone Cherry shows.

5. Wasn't Sublime all about the dead guy originally? Seems like the Plastic Ono band without John to me - maybe I'm mistaken...

6. More Cake please!

Any other Directv subscribers?

Just watched Grace Potter, and Joe Walsh, but now I lean towards Palladia more than GC stuff. It has some really good HD shows.

My son asked me the same thing recently. "Songs About Jane" was a good album but now they sound like any other generic pop band IMO.

+1 on more Cake!

I don't have Palladia. :(

I just saw the Joe Walsh episode last night. Outstanding! Great interview. I loved his thoughts about fridge-sized guitar racks and analog vs. digital.

Perfect records don't sound good.

Our bodies are waiting for our minds to come back.

Usually the GCC's sound really good but the guitars on the Megadeth show sounded kinda crappy. Oh, well...

"Isn't It Ironic"? Yep, the fact that she's on a stage is extremely ironic.

How so?

I like her little dance. She's tiny!
