RANT about how rubbish the UK is for gear (unless you're in London)

This is a rant about how rubbish the UK is for buying gear (unless you're in London that is, which I'm not) - more specifically bass amps!

Went to one shop in Bolton, A total selection of some limited Ashdown stuff and 3 Mark Bass combos. Nothing else what so ever. This is the same for nearly every shop I've tried recently. The gear is either really cheap and naff Chinese or that newer Ashton stuff, or ubber expensive with no choice in between. The same is true of basses too. Whatever happened to choice?

Good I hate the this country some times. Try before you buy is a reality some of us simply don't have....

... I feel better(ish) now for letting that off my chest!

The audience simply doesn't know, or care what bass you play. If it feels good, play it!

That's one of the downsides of being on an island! But you should be able to get pretty much whatever you want online...
