So I'm sitting here listening to Wu Tang, and I'm wondering if anyone else here likes rap. My Favs are Wu Tang, Del The Funky Homosapien, Hieroglyphics, Jurrasic 5, Snoop Doggy Dog, Dr Dre, Public Enemy , and whatever else sounds good.
Anyone else wanna share their love for rap?

| | | | Underground hip hop was all I listened to for about 4 years. Hip hop was my first musical love. Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Mr. Lif, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique (maybe its just me but I think if RATM reformed a song with IT would be awesome), MF Doom, R.A. the Rugged Man, Roots, Styles of Beyond, Apathy, some Sutter Kain (If you like death metal and hip hop you will like him believe me. His lyrics get a little to gory for me sometimes though), Tech N9ne, all some of my fav stuff to listen to. |

There's some names I didn't really think would pop up at Talk Bass!
For you two who like Murs and Atmosphere: have y'all checked out Felt?
I really like those mentioned above, as well as The Coup, Sage Francis, and Brother Ali.

I believe that bass is bass, regardless of whether it's "synthed" or not. I've proly learned as much from Hammond B3 players about playing bass than I have from other bassists! Funky is funky. |

Also, I've gotten more Roots, and im amazed at how good it is.

I have some Sage Francis and Brother Ali but what I usually do is download something and give it a quick listen, lucky stuff gets the night time lights out lying in bed deep listen, and if I love it after that I buy it. This thread just reminded me to give Sage Francis and Brother Ali the deep listen haha lately I've really been listening to Blizzard of Ozz alot though so I'm gonna have to get back in hip hop mode. |

You can quote me on that\
I also like the Boosie (?) song "Set it Off," because he quite clearly says, "DA, don't search my house, there ain't no mother****in' drugs there," as if he thinks the district attourney is someone who searches your house for drugs.
