Rate My Rig

So im new on here and am still trying to figure out the whole forum thing. But I want some other guys opnion on my equipment and rig. So i'll tell you what I have and you tell me what you think. I play all types of music. Mostly Heavy Metal (Drop B or Bflat) and Contemporary (Standard). Heres my rig:

Behringer Ultrabass 450W Head
2 Behringer 410 cabs

I know not everyone likes behringer but they have never let me down. And that setup there cost about 350 when I add up individual purchases. Its too many ohms for the head since the cabs are wired at 4 ohms each. So I run 1/4" to the bottom cab then link them with a neutrik speakon.

The basses I use arent Pro basses either, but they play so well and sound how I want. So im in zero rush to get a new one.

I play a Kramer 5 String and a Peavey Millenium 4 String. Both Passive. However I do plan on putting active EMGs in the 5 string.

I also plan on skipping the head and picking up a Europower 1000w amp and a Sansamp RBI (If you know of where I can pick one up around 200 please pm or email me!). That should give me the versatility and the tones i need. However, the head im running sounds fine and pushes both of my cabs to the max.

Well let me know what you think!

A sansamp or vt pedal will do wonders for your sound.

Seems with this setup you're getting 2 ohms to the amp. Same as plugging in both cabs to the amp.

Unless you run the speaker boxes serially (where you'll get 8ohms), Behringer does not advise your setup.

Maybe the temperature controlled fan is keeping the heat down. Still, you're probably shortening its lifespan.

Also, if it sounds good to you, not much need for others to rate your rig.

i dig your head. it's my backup. And I, too, run it at 2 ohms, even though it shouldn't be.

I don't advise you continue to do the same, though. Just stating.

If you play out and get paid, your rig is a pro rig, if not, it's an amature rig. Either way, if it does what you want and need, enjoy it, and be glad you have more equipment than most.
