Realistic Sounding Composition Program???

yeah, does anyone know of any composition programs that allow me to change the sound of the guitars (including the bass) much like an effects pedal or something? I use Finale for writing basic stuff down for my band but it's just so limiting for sound since Finale is more of a Concert Band oriented program.
Any Ideas???

Can you export your Finale files in SMF (Standard MIDI Format)? If so, you could try playing them with Garage band or Band in a Box. If you are on Windows, Sony makes a program that is somewhat like Garage Band, but the name escapes me at the moment.

Or you might try a full featured sequencer program like Sonar (by Cakewalk). It would import SMF's and you could assign all kinds of different sounds.

Sibelius and some good sound software will do the trick. But it can get complicated.
