Rechargeable batteries in a tuner?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Boss TU-80 tuner/metronome, and the 2 AA batteries that came with it are finally in the process of giving up the ghost. I was planning to replace them with rechargeable AA's (cheaper, more eco-friendly, etc.).

While I have no doubts that the tuner will still function if I do that, is there a chance that it'll be somewhat skewed by the batteries supplying 1.2V instead of 1.5, and thus tune my bass to a reference pitch that isn't 440Hz despite claims to the contrary?

For that matter, do tuners lose their reference pitch when running on nearly-dead batteries?
