I've been listening to a lot of ska lately and have been wanting to expand my collection. Can anyone recommend me some good third wave bands? |

voodoo glow skulls get my vote as one of the best more modern ska bands

I'm not a big fan of voodoo glow skulls though, they're too hardcorish |

Reel Big Fish's "Turn The Radio Off" is a solid album, but IMO just about everything else they've done is rubbish.
Big D & The Kids Table
Streetlight Manifesto is decent
For ska without horns, check out The Impossibles.

having "in all rwanda's glory", "babylon", "who would have thought", "status", "anyone but you" and "nugget" all in a row make this possibly the best 6 songs in a row on a cd.

Specials are great too, but they often covered Toots and Maytals (check them out too). Skankin Pickle, Skeletones, Selector, Hepcat, Tokyo Ska Parade (These cats are from Japan), Fireball (also Japanese), and Fat Freddy's Drop (New Zealand - but they kind of jam into funk and dub too). | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
