I've never used a Moody but all of my Italia straps are soooo comfortable. There's no break-in period needed.

I've been following this thread, as I've been making custom straps for the past year.
Theres an easy solution.
Both Levy's and Italia us a common "weave adjustment". This refers to the oblong slots you weave the tail through to get your length.
Find a local leather worker. Have them add one or two slots.
Every leatherworker should have an oblong punch. Should not be a big deal.
You will likely be charged a few bucks

I don't have a pic handy. I'm 5'6" and 120lbs on a good day. I find that most Levys straps can be a bit long for me. I picked up a custom short and fixed length strap from these guys.

Nice link!
Not inexpensive, but very cool straps.

Finally uploaded a pic of the guitar and strap. Koa Taylor T5 with a dyed cobra strap. They also installed strap lock holes, which made adding the strap locks extremely easy.

Not so fast...

Seems like a lot of high praise here for "Italia" . . I'm here to tell you "not so fast..." I was just refunded my entire amount from Italia not even a week ago. I've never worked with such hard-headed, snobs before. Make SURE you read every-single-word on their website BEFORE you commit to making any kind of payment. They get you coming and going..both. I will NOT recommend them. The search is on right now to find a better, less difficult company to order custom leather straps through...Let the buyer beware.

I have bought three straps from Italia and I have never had a problem. Ordered them and they arrived within a few weeks.

Neither Moody or Italia makes what I like, so never dealt with either...

Me- I liKe a PADDED 3" soft (glove-leather e.g.) strap that is 43" keyhole-keyhole.
Not that readily available, so I've had several made.
Costs me a bunch too!

Jeri Hart will cut to length, and tho unpadded, she has nice leathers & designs:

I’ve been very happy with my Italia straps and their customer service. I emailed them at one point asking if I could just buy the adjustable end portion for a couple of their straps and they were extremely helpful. I’m a one strap for each bass kinda guy and as soon as I buy another bass I’ll be ordering another Italia strap. YMMV but I’m a happy customer.

So just got some Italia's as backups for a Moody and found this thread.

For an inexpensive choice it's fine. It will most definitely need a break in period, edges are sharp and cutting and not particularly comfortable in general. Suede backing isn't so great either vs leather on the Moody

Construction is good and a better than fair price on the "twofer"

However not even close in quality and comfort to the Moody. IMO etc

Get what you pay for....
