RECTANGULAR OR MOULDED BASS CASE ?

Rectangular pros : can sit horizontally or vertically [ and flat of course ]
: Room for leads , strings , pedals etc

cons : More awkward to fit into a car
: Heavier

Moulded Case pros : compact and portable

Cons : cant store accessories
: top lid system is weaker
: wont stand vertically with confidence

just interested in peoples opinions , if you had the choice , which one would you buy ?

I've always preferred the rectangular ones because of the extra storage room.

I've always been leery of the molded ABS cases because plastic doesn't breathe. It's probably a non issue, but I just can't get the idea of my bass sitting in a case full of condensation out of my head.

I prefer the classic style rectangular case, over the molded ABS type cases any day. The ABS is durable, but on the other hand the classic rectangle made of wood, tolex, and foam seems like it would protect the instrument better (more cushion is better). Most of all I prefer the look of a classic style case to the space age look of ABS.
