O.K. heres my goal til 1/1/2013:
No new gear acquisition.
I simply want to fix and maintain the basses and amps I currently have. This is expensive and time consuming enough.
-Eden B300T is in shop getting fixed to be sold
-Kay M1 needs new bridge/fingerboard/pickup
-Wishbass #38 gets refinish and maybe coil splitter
-swap a 4 ohm 15 into my current 8 ohm 15 ampeg cab
-tubes for the mesa boogie 400+
Yesterday I began by picking up two sets of shaller straplocks so that all my current gig-able basses have their own straplocks and straps.
Certainbass 5 string P/J is in Winchester getting a real Fender 5 string P installed which should bring it close to the vision I originally had for it, a P sound in a 5 string jazz body.
Ken Smith #41 needs a refinish-its had 30 years of hard playing- 15 by someone else, 5 by me then a ton of case time but the original varnish is all but gone. The bill lawrence rosewood encased humbuckers could use a rewind as well!
I just remember when we were kids and if we could manage to get one decent axe and one decent amp it was considered "goal achieved".
I still have plenty of things on my wishlist for 2013
electric upright
5 string laminate acoustic upright
funny, whenever I own a mesa boogie all my amp G.A.S. goes away! |
