Refrigerator MAGNET

Sign in to disble this ad
Is anybody else sick of seeing ads for "Fender Precision Bass Guitar Refrigerator Magnets" on eBay in the "musical instruments" section? I mean seriously, why would anyone think that someone looking through the musical instruments ads on eBay would have any interest whatsoever in a Refrigerator Magnet? For that matter who would buy a freaking Refrigerator Magnet from eBay?

Ebay is full of totally odd/random crap that I can't believe people buy. As far as advertisements go, I have a personal thing about NOT buying anything that was advertised to me in an irritating way. (However, I don't think I have ever even seen an advertisement on the internet for anything I had any interest in. )

Its the filters- look to the left column and you will see "17,198 in musical instruments-guitar-bass, 423 in toys-guitar-bass" etc.

Ebay didn't used to be like this-in the last few years a simple search opened all the filters and you get loads of cr@p in your fishing net now!
You think its bad with basses, search for a car or motorcycle! If its classic and collectible, there will be far more toys than real cars...

Add -magnet or -refrigerator in the search box but make sure that 'include description' isn't ticked.

This falls into the same category of people getting irritated with ad posts that get bumped more than they would like. So what? Why care?

Non nos gratum anus rodentum. If I'm not interested in it or the price is too high, I just ignore it. No pronlem, really...

While we're talking 'sick', what really make me really sick are user names that use either the 'hallowed' name of Jaco or Jamerson in them. I'm mean have some respect!

Before we know it some bright spark is going to stoop so low as to try and combine the both the names into one. J

Time to cut down on the coffee.

It's just a magnet.

Open 'fridge door, insert head, chill.

(Incidentally, I have a coffee mug with a nice Fender P on it - and yes, I just might buy a couple of those magnets.)

Hmmmm...I could always try signing up as "Jacomerson" or "Jamesaco". Might be fun to watch the fireworks.

I only care because when you are looking for a bass and you keep coming across pictures of basses with low starting prices it gets frustrating when every time you click on one it keeps turning out to be a freaking REFRIGERATOR MAGNET!

Refrigerator magnets are not musical instruments and therefor should not be advertised as such. Not the end of the world mind you but very annoying all the same.

I don't find that as annoying as 4,967 ads all in a row for the same bass guitar, 42" long which gives ""highest quality excellent song".... with 10 watt amp.

Why would anybody post a complaint about refrigerator magnets on ebay in a bass guitar forum. Seriously, what do little magnets have to do with basses?

I mean hey...if wanted to read threads about refrigerator magnets I'd go to TalkRefrigeratorMagnets instead of TB.

I get that. I really do...but you said it yourself - the low starting price is kinda telling. The seller prolly figgers that cats looking for P-basses might impulse buy knick-knacks, too. Just trying to feed his family, I suppose.

Everybody has a different frustration levels with things, I guess. Clicking a mouse 20 more times than I wanted to doesn't hit the threshold for me.

Yup, really annoying- almost as bad as going into the Basses forum to read about basses, and finding that someone listed a thread about magnets there instead

Moved to Misc.

I am so glad we are on the same page. Refrigerator magnets have nothing to do with musical instruments and therefor should not be included in any musical instruments section. Thank you for helping to illustrate my point.

Yeah, I found it kind of ironic that this was in Basses.
