Reggae Fusion appreciation thread.

Didn't find one already...

So I guess we just post here about reggae fusion bands...

I can't say I'm a long time fan, but its my most recent obsession. I've been listening to pepper, sublime, the movement, bob marley, etc almost non-stop for a while now. I've seen sublime once already, and I'm going to see them again w/ 311 soon. I was sorely disappointed when I found out that I missed pepper at the warped tour.

I'm kinda new to all this, so I guess leave suggestion as far as bands, songs, or albums go.

I'll leave a couple of my favorite songs.
‪The Movement- Set Sail‬‏ - YouTube
‪The Movement - On Your Feet (A Dog's Industry)‬‏ - YouTube
‪Pepper - Stormtrooper‬‏ - YouTube
‪pepper- boot‬‏ - YouTube
‪pepper-ashes‬‏ - YouTube
‪Sublime- Ebin‬‏ - YouTube
‪Sublime- Date Rape‬‏ - YouTube
‪Sublime - All You Need‬‏ - YouTube
‪Pepper - Cali Love Songs‬‏ - YouTube

I'll check them out! Thanks

Does new sublime even have any songs out? Not that I'd be interested, but I thought they just went and toured on the old songs.

Of course I was little over a month old when Bradley died, so I've never seen 'old' sublime. I think Rome sounds pretty close, and its the best that I can do. They put on one hell of a show

Right with you bro some of my favorite bands.... Slightly Stoopid is one of the tightest bands and the main reason why I continue to play both bass and guitar.

P.S. I played Division 1 lacrosse and run a Lax store so PM me with any questions

One Love

If that is the style you like, please, please check out my band www.DPRsound.com. It should be right up your alley. Also, check out Fear Nuttin Band. Great friends of ours, and such a great band.
Sublime W/ Rome has an album out, it is pretty good

you guys have a great sound. Are you still using the squier or the MTD these days? Agreed Sublime with Rome is pretty good....3 songs are good at most. I was a little dissapointed. After hearing Panic live on Jimmy Kimmel I thought they were back....Nope

Dirty Heads are legit though

Check out Slightly Stoopid, the Expendables, and maybe Collie Buddz. Some Desmond Dekker and Michael Franti might go down well also.

IME Bad Fish does a better job with Sublime's stuff than Sublime with Rome.

Thanks man. For those songs from our ep, I actually used my Ibanez SR305. The MTD Kingston has become my main bass now.
I too was very hopeful for Sublime after hearing Panic, but most of the album seems very generic to me. They still kill live though.

That's awesome. Being able to play both should help you become a good songwriter.

It helps no doubt. I've been playing guitar for 20 years and bass for 13. Bass is my main instrument but it's definitely fun playing both.
