Relatively cheap high-friction strap?

Can anyone recommend a good strap? I have a very cheap planet waves one that was terrible - the nylon material it's made of just doesn't produce enough friction against my shoulder to steady a bass with so-so balance. Then I tried an older, even cheaper D'addario strap and it worked much better - purely because I got more friction with whatever it was made off (probably also nylon, but a coarser weave).

I don't need some super-padded-leather-reinforced-ultra-comfort type strap... just one that doesn't slip easily. (then again if high end straps aren't actually expensive, I could go for one of those..)

I use the Franklin cotton straps for basses that want to dive a little. They are very soft and comfortable and the cotton weave grips my shoulder really well.

Any wide strap with a suede underside will generate a lot of friction. Levy's makes a number of them.

+1 on the Levy's suede strap. The 3" one is nice, and cheapish, too.
