Removing strings from a guitar

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm not sure if its in this section of strings but this is for a electric guitar and not a bass. So I was planning to change my strings from my electric guitar. But the E and A string are both stuck in between the tremelo. The guitar is a Squier strat. And the ball is like right in the tremelo where you push it out from the front bridge and the back. Got any suggestions? Thanks

I'm not sure what exactly you mean, a few pictures could help. Is it when you threaded it through the back, it came through wrong? Did you take off that plastic back plate?

Stuck in between the tremolo? I don't understand.

Pictures would definitely help.

Ah i got it out with a little help from a screwdriver. The ball at the end of the string was strangely stuck in the tremelo in where you strung it.

[ ]= Tremelo

the back

o--------= String

Here it is v

[ o-------]

So i stuck my screwdriver from the bridge and jam it good and than the ball just pushed out. Took awhile tho and got many cuts @_@

That'll happen on strats. I have one and occasionally I have experienced similar stubborness of the old strings refusing to "give up the ghost".

I use a mini-phillips screwdriver...but the back plate has to come off...a hassle...but that's kinda why guitar players are so...so.
