Tell him to buy a new one since he ruined the old one.

It depends.

Sometime, cymbals can get flipped inside out (really hard to describe this). If pressure is applied around the bell area, it essentially can invert itself to some extent. The remedy for that is to take it from the underside and apply pressure, thus reversing it. If it doesn't pop fairly quickly and with some good force, then this isn't it.

If the cymbal is straight up "bent", there is literally nothing you can do.

What kind of hi hats are these? Because if they are like, Sabian Solars or some garbage, you're better off just getting new ones.
If they are quality, you can buy new top or bottom hats individually.

like an above poster stated, if you put some pressure on it where it is bowed out it might pop back into shape. It might take a couple set of hands place at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock to get the proper pressure.

Basically wrap your fingers around the rim and press with your palm into the part that's bowed out so your fingers are pulling the rim of the cymbal towards you and your palm/wrist is pushing out away from you. This is assuming it is "inside out" as in the illustration all the way around the cymbal.

I'll try a picture.

Try and push where the arrows are pointed. It should "pop" back into place. If it does not, then the cymbal is going to require replacing.

I am not feeling good about this phrase 'guitard' anymore.
It's getting old.
