I find it ironic that you can't spell the word you are using as an insult.

are those songs or bands?

and my biggest gripe isnt the music, its the vocals and most of the lyrics.

i hate singers that sound so whiney, or singers that sing soft lyrics but scream them to make himself sound more like a man but he still wears girl pants, tight shirts and eye liner.

You have to stop relying on the mainstream to give you hard bands. You sound like you need some Lightning Bolt.

give me a sec

Job For A Cowboy -
Emtombment Of A Machine
Suspened By The Throat

Waking The Cadaver -
Chased Through The Woods By A Rapist
Blood Splatterd Satisfaction

Between The Buried And Me -
All of there songs

Here lyrics for some of the songs

JFAC
It breathes.
What stands before us is not a machine,
it breathes, it will bleed, and it will sleep.
Its body is covered in hundreds of wires.
The mouth attempts to speak but,
Only murmers collapse from its jaws.
With only delayed movements from its figure we all begin to strain.
My legs weaken at the site of this damanged program,
For this program kept you breathing, it kept you alive.
These circuits diffused once more.
We kneel and we plead for no mourning ahead of us,
Entombment of a machine.
So Sleep, sleep among us and hesitate no more.
I saw it die.

Lightning Bolt is a two piece (guitar/drums) from the RISD noise scene around Providence. In Rhode Island a lot of the shows are played in warehouses, so most of the bands play incredibly loud to fill up the airspace. The drummer is almost completely deaf. So yeah, they play pretty hard.

I love Death from Above, I used to listen to their album every day when it just came out. I can't take all the electronic dance remixes of their crap, I need for them to put out another album. The bassist fills so much range, it's fun to watch him play.

Also, there's a thread on noise rock floating around (maybe from yesterday?) worth checking out, most of the bands mentioned in it are pretty good.

Lightning Bolt is actually bass and drums. The bass player occasionally uses a whammy pedal to give him the guitar sound. Death From Above 1979 is more dancey, where as Lightning Bolt is more about noise.

i feel ya

there is plenty of good heavy music out there ( All That Remains just put out an AWESOME new album), but because music is such a commodity now, they can market crappy, whiny talentless music as "heavy" or "dark" music, and lots of people will like it and think it is heavy. what most people consider "heavy" music isn't in fact heavy at all.

i myself always say i should have been born 10 years earlier. gimme the grunge, baby. i think i actually should have been in soundgarden.

rock.
