Review the SKB 44RW ATA Case Please!

I need a flight case. This SKB thing looks pretty cool. You can put your gig bag in here and this shell wraps around it. It has wheels and lots of handles.

Anybody have one? How do you like it? I read a review that the old latches didn't work but the SKB people say they fixed the problem so the latches are great now.

Here's what I'm talking about BTW

seems to me that the gig bag might leave the instrument a tad looser inside the case than the usual form fitted foam....completely immobilizing the bass would seem more practical

Thumbs up

Just found this when I was thinking the same (to have anyone review it) & decided 'just' to get one and find out myself!
My thoughts; for the cost, the weight, sturdiness and the lifetime guarantee there isn't a better deal in my opinion.
It may look like something that gives a frown on an airport, or walking around in the street for that matter these days - I use it when in & out the van - but it feels way more sturdy than a 10 kilogram weighing flightcase in that pricerange.
Plus I just like gigbags for when I go to rehearsals / local gigs by car, so I don't make 'm redundant by getting cases too.
It has enough room to store two empty 7ender bags, but it won't fit two basses!
Unless you have a twin bag smaller than the Ibanez trolley, you need one for every instrument wich I'll be getting before long.
Was amazed at how it fits acoustic basses too, for those who want to upgrade that but it might mean getting rid of two interior braces if you have a jumbo size bottom. But I assume that will not be covered by their lifetime guarantee if you'd change your mind
