Revoke my man card - I joined a girly band.

I just had an audition for this trio, and I nailed it. It's a female led group, consisting of piano, drums, and bass - think Tori Amos, except more jazzy. They are some damn good players - they're even better than me, which is a refreshing change of pace. I'm going to have to put in a bit of practice time to catch up.

It's pretty girly music. It's good stuff, but methinks I'm going to have to bring some pretty nasty distortion pedals in there or something, or I might start developing ovaries.

Sounds like you'll have lots of fun and improve your musicianship along the way.

Just cuz a band has a chick in it doesn't make it girly.

Enjoy it. But if you find yourself sitting around talking about problems rather than solving them then immediately leave and drink lots of beer.

I don't think it's going to be that bad - the drummer is a surly German dude. The music is good, but awfully girly though.

Time to break out my gnarliest distortion pedals.

No shame if they're better than you. Much worse to be in the opposite situation.

Sounds pretty good. A band doesn't need guitars and distortion to be good.

My band is half female half male....... you won't lose your man card. Matter of fact..... other musicians get jealous ("Where'd you find TWO girls?!" gets heard for us......I've yet to have anyone walk up to me and say "where'd you find two men?"). Just think-the scenery is *much* better from where you are standing (unless you stand behind the drummer....).
