ok so im wondering, in order to get such melodies as the one to drifting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddn4MGaS3N4
or erik mongraine's airtap http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbndgwfG22k
do they use strange tunings? cos the intervals im hearing are weird, especially at looking where hes fretting. anywho when i get some skill (its practically nonexistent) ill be trying to play some of this sorta thing so help would be appreciated

Alternate tunings. According to Erik Mongrain's site, "Airtap!" is tuned FACFCF.

oh ok that does that then... well for that matter, are there tunings more suited to classical music or such other styles?
