Right-Angle Cords-Any Difference?

I pulled out an old cord of mine with a right-angle jack the other day, and just realized that they work much better when looping your cord through your strap, and they also don't risk messing up the imput jack when you leave your bass plugged in and leaning in a stand. Is there any real difference otherwise between them and standard straight cords?

I prefer right angled cords for the reasons you mentionned.

I can't see any other differences.

No sound difference, but the right angle is much safer. I have seen so many input jacks and pickguards on guitars and basses damaged when they were knocked over, cord stepped on, etc. The worst damage is always when they had a straight plug sticking out! Right angle is RIGHT ON!!!!

I prefer them on Jazz and P basses or any bass that has them sticking right out of the bass really.

I just feel safer.
