He joined the band in 2002 or something like that ...
But GWAR always seemed like a bunch of close-knitted friends who enjoyed bringing their oevr-the-top shows.

The first time I saw GWAR they stormed the stage in the middle of a Dag Nasty matinee show to announce a show they were playing later that night in town. I was stunned. It was around 1987 or so. I probably saw them 10 times in the late 80's and early 90's. RIP.

It's funny that most people dismiss gwar as just a theatrical band, but the music is some killer thrash.
