Wow... thats a big loss alright. Everytime I'm on Raymond in Fullerton and go by the site of the old Fender factory, I give a silent "thanks" to those brilliant guys that made all these wonderful musical inventions for us. RIP George Fullerton....

And most of all.. THANKS for the happiness you gave us all.

I think Freddy Tavares, Jess Oliver, and Forest White are all still alive and kicking.

EDIT: Never mind, Freddy Tavares has been dead for almost 20 years! A

EDIT 2: Forrest has been dead for 15 years...

Im guessing this true icon of music wont be getting ridiculous amounts of air time if any in the UK unlike a certain musician its a sad world we live in sometimes.

I think all the post-war pioneers are now gone except for Les Paul. He's 94.

Jess Oliver is still alive, kicking, and fixing bass amps. He's the guy who came up with all the classic ampeg designs.

If you wanna see Les Paul, I'd make it a point to do it soon. He's probably only got another year, year and a half left in him if you ask me. He was sick for awhile and stopped playing. I dunno if he's back yet at the Iridium.

Same with Bo Diddly. Went to the hospital the night before I was supposed to see him. I dunno if he's back in action or if he retired.

I spent most of my childhood working for my parents very near the old plant there and often used to hang out on Fender ave, the area is chock full of musical history, to think of the magic produced there- to think that when you saw a Fender guitar or bass used by a band it came from the street you knew so well is mind blowing. RIP George Fullerton, a true innovator-jam on!

Sorry to say he's gone as well.
