Road trip songs

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok folks, i'm making an 8 hour drive tomorrow and then back to denver on thursday. I need a playlist! Let's hear your favorite driving songs. It doesn't have to be driving or road related, just whatever you enjoy rocking on a road trip.

I'll start:

Doosu - Four Steps - my favorite driving song of all time. It's a fist pumping anthem.

Doosu - working man - it's hard to keep from speeding while this is playing - "I move fast so, please, please move fast!!"

Stavesacre - the entire "absolutes" album....they just rock beginning to end on this record....

Weezer - Holiday - it always makes me feel like hitting the road.

Smashing Pumpkins - "starla" or "geek usa" or "silverf***." if you are alone, tackle both discs of mellon collie while on the road.

Ok, your turn.

Billy Cobham: The Pleasant Pheasant
Jean Luc Ponty: Egocentric Molecules
P Funk: Flashlight
FishBone: Bonin in the Bone Yard.
24/7 Spyz: Blues For Dimebag

Every one of those tunes makes me want to drive too damn fast!

"Radar Love" - Golden Earring
"Take It Easy" - The Eagles
"Drift Away" - Dobie Gray
"Ventura Highway" and "Sister Golden Hair" - America
"Ramblin' Man" - Allman Brothers
"Hot Rod Lincoln" - Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen
"Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" - Lobo

These all remind me of '70s road trips and good times!

Good thing there are no kids on board, or you would be hearing a rousing version of "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round and Round."

Or if older....<shudder>...."Ninety-nine bottles of Beer On the Wall."

THOSE are road trip songs, ones you will NEVER get out of your head.

I don't know why, but when ever I made the trip home from college Solsbury Hill was the 1st song I'd always play in the car . . .

I would think "Slaves Shall Serve" by Behemoth would be appropriate for a nice gentle relaxing cruise.

i have to listen to full albums. so....
manchester orchestra- mean everything to nothing
city and colour- bring me your love
dave matthews band- pretty much anything
felix culpa- sever your roots
thrice- the alchemy index: i-iv
and anything and everything by modest mouse.

this would pretty much cover a good majority of the trip.
theyve kept me company on a lot of lonely 8 hour drives from illinois to ohio.
