Interesting. Make sure you go with musicians or real fans of music. I got dragged through there in 3 hours, where I could spend three weeks.

When I lived in Cleveland, I probably went three times. It's pretty cool- they've got some nice basses there as well, like JPJ's Alembic.

More interesting than that though is the West Side Market that's just a mile over the bridge from there. Mmmm....old world brats...

I went when I was younger. Maybe 10 or 11. It was pretty cool, although I didn't really know any of the bands in there at the time I wasn't a rocking preteen. I remember ZZ Top's car is in there. My dad said he had worked on it because Top had rehearsed down the street from his shop or something. I'm not sure if I believe him though.

I went last summer. It was pretty awesome. I really enjoyed the Hendrix wing. They had a bunch of his stuff including a guitar whuich he used on some of his last recordings. It was a hollowbody kinda liek what Carlos Santana uses. I also liekd whatching a video about Atlantic records. The hallways with the different music periods was also cool. I spent a few hours there and bought almost 100 dollars woth of stuff there. A few cds a t-shirt. It was a pretty awesome place. They also had bands from cleveland there. IT started out with a younger group(10-12) playing folk music. They had a bunch of memembers. Then a little older group of kids (prob 13-16) were playing in a calypso/caribeen band with two pans , drums , ukele , and bass on a song or two. The best was last . They were prob around 18 and they were a kicking blues band. The lineup was drums , keys , vocals and guitar. The singer was s pliting image of Aretha Franklin , the drummer and keys players were both black and they had theis smaller white kid on guitar. He was downright awesome. They played a little funk that got everybody moving too. It was a great experience.

I went and played there, I was caught drooling while looking at instruments on several ocassions. I got dragged through far faster than I would have liked, but I survived

I went there once with my dad about six months before I started playing bass (I was 14). It was a REALLY cool place. Both my dad and I loved it. I'm definately going back if/when I find myself in Cleveland again.

went last summer. this is a very well done museum. classy is not what always comes to mind when talking about rock and roll, but that is the way i would describe the rock and roll hall of fame. the hendrix section was awesome. the things that i liked the most were the personal artifacts of his. home work assignments, a birthday card he hand made for his dad. that was very touching. most of the people in the hall of fame are larger than life type stars. i came away feeling like i knew them on a more personal level. like they were just regular people. imho. peace, jeff

I was there a few weeks ago for a total of 5 minutes in and out, dropping off my Flea owned/smashed bass. I didn't have time to see jack since I was on a business trip and running behind, but did get 4 free tickets to return when I have the time.

PS, my bass will be on display in the Memphis location when it opens 2007.
