Thumbs up Rocksmith is very cool!

So I have been waiting for this game/practice tool to come out for about a month. Finally picked it up yesterday and played it. I played all night and as soon as I woke up. Its like rock band but you use your own real guitar. I have already learned to play 3 songs very well (turn the game off and grab my acoustic). addictive, fun, and a great way to keep your hands on a guitar for hours! Now if they would only make Bassmith I would'nt leave the house. Anyone else try this yet?

Great to hear someone has it already! I'm on the fence. In some of the reviews there are some concerns about lag/latency if you connect via an HDMI interface. Have you noticed any lag issues?

I read that bass DLC may be available in the future :-)

That's good to hear that the lag isn't too bad. At least on your TV anyways. Thanks!

Having been burned by Line6, I think I will wait to see if the bass is vaporware.

So, you can use an acoustic/electric guitar as opposed to an electric? Because the commercial says use an electric. And, when IS the bass version coming out?

I cant wait for a bass version! I picked up a pawn shop Ibenez for 40$ and it even works and stays tuned I used an acoustic pickup I picked up for 50 bucks for a acoustic guitar I borrowed the first day I bought it but it was just so loud I thought I'd see if I could find a cheap beater electric. I'm really impressed with the game. It's pretty damn cool. I hadn't even tried to play guitar in years (I'm pretty awful at bass too) and have noticed a huge improvement in just 2 sessions of about 2 hours each. I can see it being a great tool just for the fact you see immediate gains and are playing along with songs right from the very start. Pretty cool when you see the bar of notes coming at you adjust in real time as they're coming at you depending on how well your doing. Its pretty amazing tech involved in the game.

They're probably assuming most people don't have a mic/output jack in their acoustic guitars so they don't want to confuse anyone.

I dont know how i feel about this. Its great that this game can actually teach people how to play though. I'm kinda skeptical as to how much you can actually learn from it. Just expect a serious increase in guitards...

I kinda wanna buy this just because I have been real lazy about building muscle memory on guitar I mostly just write stuff and never really sat and did scales on guitar. Kinda figured this game would make that part a lot more fun think I'm gonna get it.

I picked this up over the weekend. LOVE IT. It's definitely helped me a lot, and I've honestly barely played it. I can't wait to see what I pick up once I finally start to really delve into it.
