Well, I finally caved. I been wanting something else to occupy my time and take my mind off troubles, so I went to Scam Cash and bought me a Roland V series kit. Its basically the same as the Roland TD125SV_Stage kit. Same amount of pieces, same exact pieces actually. Its just an older model from 2000.

I cant believe the array of tones you can use with this thing. I suck at drums, but even this thing gives me hope and even Im sounded good. Not sure if Im playing good, but it does sound good. LOL

Truth be told, the only reason I bought these thigns was cause a friend of mine is big into techno, she sent me a recording of a techno song, I laid down a bass line to it, sent it back to her, then she sent it to a friend who plays guitar. Me and him have been colaborating since, the only thing missing is drums, so Im hoping to solove that little dilema now.

V-Drums are cool. I've got a TD-6 kit (somewhere) and it sounds very good indeed. But it only has the cheapest rubber trigger pads, they aren't quite the same feel as proper drums.

I've been toying with that idea as well lately, getting something for the kids (who want to learn drums) and expand my musical knowledge a bit as well. Hopefully, learning more about drums would help my bass playing. I've messed around with the low-end Vdrum kits and they certainly seem good for the money and versatile. A question I have is that if you learn on an electronic kit, would you have any trouble switching over to an acoustic drum kit?
