Hi.

Wondering about what?

Don't own one, never will, no use for me, but:

Those are extremely lightly constructed racks for light equipment. Pres', mixing desks, controllers and such. And/or for stationary use.

The lack of proper rack-rails is the first -, as the equipment is naturally only attached to the rails. 60 lbs won't give You thick enough sides to withstand any deforming forces or impacts.

The wording about the shipping and shipping prices makes me wonder...

The price is VERY tempting, that I can agree wholeheartedly. Just bought some rack suff to again make my own and it is expensive.

As with some other somewhat controversial gear , these have their place and users. Just don't expect much if You take 'em on the road a lot.

Regards
Sam

I'm not too crazy about anything with rat-fur, but I'm very impressed with my Pearson case:
http://www.pearsoncases.com/deep_racks.htm
(they come in black too, they're deep 12-space is priced similar to the one in your link)

The shallow 4-space Pearson I gig my (80lb) amp in is built surprisingly well. Its plywood construction with nice quality (countersunk) hardware. I got it used a few years ago and Its still holding up really well. The pics on their sight dont do-em justice. I prefer mine for local gigging over my Mesa shock, Anvil and SKB cases.

(yeah I got several dogs and a cat)

A shock-mounted rack whose cost is equal to roughly 10% of the value of one's rack gear doesn't seem unreasonable to me. In my view, if it's worth racking, it's worth racking well. But said racks are pricey.

However... DIY Shockmount Rack Case

EDIT. I like designs like these: FOAM SUSPENDED 19" RACK CASES

I'd hit up Craigslist for used racks/cases. They are on there all the time and they are cheap. They are stupid passive devices without electronics and prone to getting beat up anyway - the perfect used item. No need to buy a new rack/case.

Just did a search for "rack" on Dallas Craigslist and there are a ton of them in various sizes/prices/condition.
