OKKKKAYYY so, im sorry ive been posting threads like crazy on here but i really need help here.

long story short, ordered an sx bass, neck pickup wasnt working, sent it back, and i got it back today (the whole process had started at the end of july) and they had just sent the bass back to me. the ups label was different from the one i had put on there.
i already emailed the guy... just wondering if anybody had more experience with their return policy.

Wow...are you serious???

Kurt at Rondo is one of the BEST in the business for customer service and returns...I've NEVER had a problem dealing with him, especially with returns...

Just before Hurricane Katrina, I bought a bass and a case. Well, they shipped...then the Hurricane hit. Never got the bass or case; as a matter of fact, I didn't make it back home until September of 2006 (Katrina hit in August '05). With everything going on, I kinda forgot about the order. Over a year later, I contacted Kurt...he refunded me in FULL with NO questions asked.

Needless to say I've ordered several more basses, cases, guitars, necks, and racks from him since.

This is one instance where I'm DEFINITELY skeptical of a problem reported on the internet...

i know! ive heard so much praise for rondomusic, thats why im so confused. i could forgive a broken pickup, i mean accidents happen. so i send it back, and a week and a half later, i get back the same exact guitar with the same broken pickup. /confused.

Is the volume knob for the pickup turned up? Did you speak with someone over the phone regarding your issue?

As others will tell you, return issues with Rondo are extremely rare.

I've ordered many instruments from them (I'm a teacher with around 20 students on my roster, and this is a great source for starter instruments). I've returned a few, and always had outstanding results.

Kurt is a stand-up guy in my experience. Be polite, keep working with him, I'm confident he'll make it right.

Was Kurt aware of you sending the bass back because of the non working pickup?

Hmm, never had to return anything to Rondo, do you need an RA? I HAVE forgotten to include RA numbers on returns and had them boomerang back to my door before.

Another voice here for nothing but positive experiences with Rondo. I bought a bunch of guitars years ago, a couple had issues, he went above and beyond to rectify.

I think you do need an RA with Rondo.

Kurt is awesome and is always prompt at returning emails even when I ask him very minor questions.

I've never had any problems with them.

Good to hear. I've never had a problem with Rondo either. I wonder if they took a look inside and fixed the problem?

Anyway, glad its working for you!

Pandaman, you should share a pic of your new bass and let us know how you like it, now that you discovered it's functional. Rondo instruments get more props around here than high-end USA-made basses.

See, it WAS the volume knob!

Just kidding. Glad your bass is working!

I bought my first fretless bass from rondo. 4 string SX, played fantastic right out of the box! (it does need a new setup now, 2+ years later). With my tax return I bought a 5 string fretless Brice from rondo last January, thing is amazing! Ive never had a bass feel so "right" in my hands!

Probably because when one purchases an expensive, high end, USA made bass the expectation is that it SHOULD sound awesome.
In comparison, a relatively cheap (Korean made, I think) bass at $100 - $300 isnt expected to sound anywhere near as good as they do!
