Rush back in the old days

I was talking with my parents earlier (while i was browsing TB, twas a hard conversation) Anyway, we got talking about people like Ronnie James Dio, Clapton, and Geddy lee. Well, We started talking about rush, becuase my parents like rush and so do I. My my mom started telling me about when she used to live in richmond hill.

Some of you might not know, but rush was a house band in a bar in richmond hill, Toronto. My parents frequently went to this bar too see the early rush play at this bar. this was before they were big or anything, they were just a simple house band at a local bar. Well, one night when my parents were at the bar, after the show, my dad and mom actually talked to Geddy and the band. After they played, my folks would chat up with early rush, have a round of brews, and then part ways. Who woulda known that a simple house band would become so huge?

for once, I am astonished with my parents. Like, my dad is in the music industry, and hes met some pretty important people like johnny cash, stompin tom connors ( I've met him too) But they actually somewhat knew rush before they were famous!

Ahh...I had to post this. I'm jealous of my parents. I think this is pretty cool.

Very cool. You never know who's gonna make it huge. Santana played at my mom's high school for a dance a couple weeks before the first record came out. I'm BEYOND jealous of that.

My dad chauffeured B.B. King from the airport one time.

That is very cool. I wonder if that bar still exists. I met Geddy Lee a few years ago along with Alex Lifeson. He's such a nice guy, so humble.

A friend of mine's dad was best friends with Neil Pert in high school, he comes over and visits every once and a while. I haven't met him though.
