| Rush - the best post-Beatles band!

I've always considered Rush to be the best post-Beatles band there ever was, for several reasons:
- they've been together since 1974, and Alex and Geddy have been playing together since high school. Longevity counts for something in this world!
- other bands, notably Led Zeppelin and The Who, may have produced better music (subjective, I know!), but nothing significant since their heyday.
- Rush has had an incredible amount of music recorded in their time together. 19 studio album, all either gold or platinum, 6 live albums, numerous compilations, DVDs, etc. Their output is virtually unmatched!
- Even at their relatively advanced ages, Rush tours with complete abandon, selling out shows wherever they go. They've become a multi-generational band, with everyone from young children to grandparents buying their music and attending their shows. And yes, I've even seen women at their concerts, in fact lots of them!
- Best of all, Alex, Geddy, and Neil actually enjoy being in Rush! They've been at it for most of their lives, and they still get a kick out of getting up on stage and performing. How many of us are lucky enough to enjoy doing what we do for even a short portion of our lives?
Those are just a few of the reasons why I call them the best post-Beatles band. You can like them or not like them, that is everybody's perogative, but I like them, and that's what really matters to me.
