RUSH on Colbert Report tonight!!

Sign in to disble this ad
That's right. The Colbert Report has booked Rush to appear Wednesday night (11:30 PM/EST). That's Rush the band, not Rush Limbaugh, the radio yapper. Limbaugh would no doubt have been the butt of countless jibes -- assuming he would even submit to the possibility of being kidded -- but he's not coming on the show.

Rush, the Canadian band, will not have to worry about Colbert's rapier wit. They're coming on the show to sing.

This is a real feather in the cap for The Colbert Report. Rush has not appeared on American TV in over 30 years, and they're going to perform "Tom Sawyer," their most-famous song.

Eh, I'd rather watch the 5 or so minutes of Colbert they will be taking up. To each his own though.

Heh, I believe that's the rule for witches: infidels and blasphemers may have different standards for burnification

Didn't see it...did hear a clip on the radio-

So, it was actually an intervention-thing for Neil Peart?

Just watched a recording of it - good fun!

Noticed Geddy had a stack behind him as opposed to the usual rotisseries, etc , but suspect that was for show; anyone know?

Off to see them this Saturday so this thoroughly whetted my appetite!

I loved it but was pissed how they went to a commercial break in the middle of Tom Sawyer then ended the show before the song was over. Other than that the interview was good.

Was that not part of the joke on them - that they play long songs!

I thought that stack was just the other half of Lifeson's stack. I'll have to watch it again tonight to see.

LOL wait they came back from commercial and they were still playing the song? I watched it on YouTube and didn't see that part.
Even though I don't think the commercials should have cut into the song after Rush hasn't been on American TV in over 30 years, I still think that's funny.

See my post above? They were still playing the next night at the start of the show.

And then they got influenced by the song Tom Sawyer, too.

I was upset too when the commercial interrupted T.S. - until I realized it was a gag when they came back.

Last night was hilarious. That's one long joke though, the punchline coming at the beginning of the next show. Awesome though!
