Yeah usually the females that go to a RUSH concert are girlfriends or wives of fans, at least that I know.
That's funny. |

| | | | When I saw them last summer, they played a video of them back stage and Neil says something to the effect of "I counted 7" and geddy responds "wow, 7 females at a rush concert. That's got to be a record."
Even the band is aware that their fanbase is pretty much all dudes.

Nice tight group sorta like a lil Yes! But how many riff patterns can you take as far as a concert goes, not many for me. Great drummer but after 30 mins extremely boring to me, sound like a band you do exercises to. Doc |

Doc | Everyone is entitled to their own musical likes/dislikes/tastes, but this about the worst appraisal of Rush I've ever heard from another musician. |

Now Metallica or Jeff Beck . . . That's a sausage fest.

No power ballads, that kind of thing. I've been to several concerts of theirs and yes it is a sausage fest. A bunch of guys in their 40s and 50s that have been loyal fans for decades. I really don't care if women go or not. I go to hear the band and they have been ******* awesome every time.
Rush is well aware of this and they have a sense of humor about it and don't take themselves too seriously. The Time Machine Tour features a machine on Geddy's side of the stage that cranks out an endless line of linked sausages to poke fun at the situation.
I was going to comment on the previous poster's bashing, but decided I just don't understand what he is talking about and leave it alone.

One of my wife's old roommates has been a big fan for many years. About 22 years ago I bought two tickets to see Rush and my wife was only mildly interested, and only because I really wanted to go. So she told me to ask her friend instead. She jumped at the chance and I've seen them with her two more times.
I recently met a woman at work who's also a huge fan.
My wife has now been to see them with me and our son twice. After somehow thinking that Rush are satanic, human sacrificing, blood drinking purveyors of the blackest of black metal for many years, she finally questioned how the hell she ever gave herself that kind of impression. She now considers herself somewhat of a fan, too.

I wouldn't be going to a Rush show, or any show for that matter, trawling for ass. Just my view.
Pertaining to the females liking Rush thing, a girl at my school really likes them. She almost rivals me with knowledge of the gear Geddy uses/used too. It's pretty awesome.
