Stage props.
It's just for the looks and for fun. There is also a vending machine or fridge, if I am not mistaken. I bet you the roadies love them for it!

The props are mainly on Geddy's side of the stage because he no longer uses amps and cabs as an onstage monitor, and he thought it would look strange for equipment to be missing from his area.
He uses in-ear monitoring and his gear is all ultra-modern and very small.

My buddy and I could not figure it out as well. We thought it was kind of funny. Then....one of them stopped. Pretty funny, right? A stage hand walked out, and restarted the cycle. Not sure if he turned a knob or pushed a button, but apparently they were just normal dryers. Geddy also threw some shirts to the crowd from one of them.

Yea, Alex was talking to Geddy one day back in the 70's, and he had this HUGE wall of stacks, and Geddy wasen't a big fan of them. So he thought "What can compare with Al's stacks, and Neils drums?" Then, he found the 3 washers in a pawn shop for 200 bucks a piece. So he bought all three of them (They're maytag )

And recently, he wanted to add something new. That being the old style vending machines. They're filled with toys. A lot of simpsons in there. I was front row at the R30 concert, and was talking to one of the roadies after the show
