I've liked Rush for a looong time (half my life, actually ) but I never saw them live until yesterday and they didn't disappoint. Best live act I've seen in years, with the tightest sound I've ever heard. this is where the 30 years playing together pays off, and it shows.
Besides the music, Rush (imo) is amazing because they're truly a team in both creation and execution. No main songwriter with a couple expendable of backup guys - take one guy away and the formula's destroyed. A true holy trinity. Heck, I even bought a concert T-shirt and I never buy these things.
Also, there was no sign they were going through the motions. They seemed genuinely excited to be there even after all these years. The only sign of their age was when Geddy told the audience they were going to take a short break because they were "about a hundred".
Anyone else caught or planning on catching their tour?

But I did get to see the very first show of the Vapor Trails tour, that's an experience I'll never forget. |

You are correct, Blackbird. They definitely are psyched to be playing and are not going through the motions. They take the music seriously, but as evident by the short films, stage props (could you see Alex's groupies?) and self-effacing stage banter, they don't take themselves too seriously.
A highly entertaining show! |

not the best seats in the house, but I probably could have hit Alex with a baseball if I really wanted to. |

Ive been to most of the tours since the 80's in alot of different places. For Snakes and Arrows we sat 9th row Geddy side. As always they were awesome. My 10 yr old's first concert. We had a blast..

A ton of new stuff from Snakes and Arrows, and a lot of stuff I did not expect to hear. Great show!
I took my just-turned-13 son - his first concert. He was singing right along with almost everything. What a night!
